When this rooster crows, credit will be given: this motto was typical for Bartolo Mascarello, the archetypal Langhe farmer, a man who was born in the Langhe of hunger and war and only towards the end of his life experienced peace and recognition for his wines. This 1999 Barolo is certainly peculiar due to its state of preservation and also its painted label, one of six. The label indicates the vineyards of origin, which are the same as today: Canubbi (written exactly like that), San Lorenzo, Rué, and Rocche.
